Glock 34 Trigger Pull Weight - I got my start in gunsmithing in the late 90s working on Glock triggers. I had a model under 2 pounds with modified parts - except for the shooting spring. Since then I have done more than 1000 jobs. Because of Timni it is all over or over now.
Glock opened their US offices in 1986. I was amazed that it took someone 35 years to change the trigger that Timney did. It's one of those things where it's easy to beat yourself up and say, "Why didn't I think of this?"

Alpha Trigger is available in two versions. One for Gen 3 and 4 Glocks and one for Gen 5 Glocks. The Gen 5 uses a completely different trigger, firing pin, pin safety, trigger spring and trigger housing. As a result, Gen 5 guns cannot use the Gen trigger.

On a factory Glock trigger, the trigger is pulled until the firing pin is released. The trigger is a sealed unit and the surface on which the trigger is located is often hard. It is an important part of management and control while working in startup. Pressing steel into a fine, machine-blasted bag does not allow smooth breathing.
When you pull the trigger, you also compress the rear spring. One of the oldest ways to make a lighter Glock trigger is to use an aftermarket trigger pin. Many have said they are unreliable; It might not be installed properly. When he does well, he gets better. I have 100,000 rounds through various competition Glocks with the ignition spring with no ignition problems.
Stock trigger bar on the left and Alpha on the right. There is no cruciform on the trigger bar as the Alpha firing does not touch the rear.
Timney killed all of this with the Alpha Trigger. The aluminum housing replaces the return shaft in the original housing. The firing pin is now activated and starts by lowering the trigger to fly the firing pin. Now you have a well-designed area that connects to each other, and the weight of the firing pin has little effect on the weight of the trigger.

With all factory parts, you can expect 3-3.5 pounds of weight when using the Alpha Launcher. It's not only light, it's smooth, silky, slightly layered and silky. Even when using a joint attachment I can rest a 4 pound weight. If you want to lighten things up easily by changing a drop or attachment to lose three pounds.

Both weights have a factory firing pin spring. This is the Alpha Trigger's best selling point. You don't need to use a lighter ignition pin to lose three pounds. The factory trigger lasts longer and provides reliable ignition for most types of ammunition. For example, if you performed a careless reset that did not reset to defaults, the entire system may still be flashed with factory firing pins. You can get a drill with a lighter ignition pin.
I've been shooting both versions for the past few months and have 4000 rounds through the Gen 3 and 1000 rounds through the Gen 5. This is where I found this new download.

I was shooting my Gen 3 in a Steel Challenge match in May and on the last round, the trigger wouldn't fire. It sounds like a misaligned overdrive stop that won't allow the trigger to go back and release the firing pin. Instead of trying to fix it on the watch, I took the gun apart, cracked it open and tried to figure out what happened.
At the time of failure, I fired about 2500 shots without cleaning my trigger. After lowering it, it appears that a small amount of debris (dirt, carbon chunk, unburnt dust, etc.) got into the sear housing and prevented the trigger from being pushed down.
Although the problem is easy to solve. You need to clean it often. My suggestion is to spray the factory housings and timny sear housing with brake cleaner or similar every 500-1000 intervals. I haven't had any problems with Alpha Trigger since I started doing it. One of the reasons Glocks are so popular is that you can go thousands of miles without maintenance. You can't be lazy with Timny Alpha. It's both a race car and a daily driver. A modern production car can travel 10,000 km without maintenance. A racing car is a high-performance machine with very tight tolerances and precision parts. Therefore, a racing car usually needs to be serviced or scrapped every 500-1000 km. This trigger is no different. Do good and it will be good for you.
My Gen 3 alpha launcher was an early build and some users failed to upgrade because the spring launcher was so fragile. The Timney quickly changed and two return springs are now included in the kit. If you have trouble resetting the failure, switch to the red return spring. Glock shooters who are fans of strong recoil should start with the red spring because it feels better to them.

Not only does the Timney replace the Glock trigger, but all three Glock factory safeties work well with the Alpha. The lower safety, stop pin, and trigger safety are all identical to the stock setup. The boot on the Alpha is machined aluminum and the trigger guard is wider and more comfortable than the stock version.
Alpha has also been modified to start walking or take off. Be very careful when setting this up as you can take a very long trip and remove a bit of all protection. I recommend turning the adjustment screws on for travel and breaking them in like the ones from Timney.
I tried combining several parameters along with alpha. The setup I chose is the factory trigger assembly, factory firing pin, factory light trigger pin, firing pin safety spring, and red return spring. I repair and polish all metal parts that touch each other - connector, firing pin, firing pin safety. This adds 2.2 pounds to me on the Gen 3.
The NP3 covers Alpha's trigger and probe. NP3 is Teflon coated electroless nickel. It makes metal products slippery and rust resistant (no rust in Florida). I've always been a fan of NP3, so many of the Ultimate 3 Gun rifles are made by NP3. Although it is simple, the Alpha trigger is very sensitive to thick oil and where the trigger meets the connector and probe. I like Slide Glide from Brian Enos, but any good oil will do.

This chart will guide you how to set various startup parameters. All testing was done with the factory firing spring and gray or light starter spring. Everything else is factory unmodified. All measurements were made using a Lyman digital trigger pull gauge. Each setup was tested five times and then weighted to get the weights you see below.
The full race trigger is a lightweight factory trigger pin, shot safety spring, light trigger spring, light trigger spring, all parts machined and polished by Alpha.
Over the past 25 years, I have tested many modified Glock triggers out there. I use my triggers all the time. I sold my Top Fuel trigger that had been broken for years at 2.25lbs. and $250. All my competition Glocks have a Timny Alpha trigger forward. It's a great find and at $150 it's a bargain.
